If your LG ice maker is not working, we recommend you check if the water supply is in great condition. Once you are sure that the water supply is not an issue, you need to turn on the unit and reset the ice maker to solve the issue.
There are two ways to reset the unit. Each method is slightly different, but the overall procedure is identical. Perform the steps prescribed by us depending on the type of your unit or tray.

The twist or flex tray:

To reset the icemaker with a twist or flex tray, you need to perform the following steps:
- Make sure that the ice maker is turned on. You will find the power on and off button on the left side of your unit. If the button is off, turn it on and wait 24 hours for the machine to start producing the ice.
- It would help if you considered resetting the process when you ensure the ice maker is on and nothing frozen is in the tray.
- Ensure the entire water supply is functional and nothing is blocking its way.
- Once the water supply is checked, press, and hold the test/fill button on the unit. Until you sense that the cycle has started.
- You will hear the water filling up in the mold.
- Wait 24 hours at least to see if the unit produces the ice cube.
Heater or custom cube
For the ice makers with the custom cube, here is the procedure to reset the unit:
- Make sure that the ice maker is turned on. You will find the power on and off button on the left side of your unit. If the button is off, turn it on and wait 24 hours for the machine to start producing the ice.
- If the unit was on and nothing was happening, you should reset it.
- This model does not contain a straightforward reset button. Instead, you will find a small hole on the left side. Insert a pin in the hole, press, and hold it for a minimum of least.
- The cycle will start immediately.
- Note that the ice maker takes 2 hours to reset during the initial installation. To reset it again, unplug the refrigerator for 30 minutes and then replug it again to reset.
- After the reset, your ice maker will take 24 hours to produce frosty cubes.
Things to keep in mind:
- Place a towel underneath the tray to absorb the remaining water and ice in the tray.
- Checking the ice maker’s functionality is necessary before resetting the unit.
- See if the motor runs properly after the reset. A faulty motor would mean you need a technician to help your cause.
- Before resetting any ice maker, the water supply must be checked to ensure the unit receives water to freeze.

LG ice maker tray is not turning.
- If your LG contacts us for repair or the shaker tray is not turning, the tray is titled, which is normal. The LG ice maker tray is titled 1 hour.
- If the tray is titled for over one hour, reset it.
The LG bottom freezer ice maker is not working.
If your LG freezer ice maker is not working, reset it and wait. It will start working again after resetting.
