When you purchase the new refrigerator its has no voice and perfect cooling. Any refrigerator needs maintenance after a few times. When you still use the refrigerator for a long time, the major problem is your refrigerator’s rattling sound.
This is a major mechanical problem like the refrigerator has a faulty defroster timer, dirty condenser fan blades. When your refrigerator making noise must check the dirty condenser fan’s blades and clean it out with warm soapy water.
Swipe up the soft cloth or towel. Water splashing is in the drain pan is also the reason for the rattling sound in your refrigerator.
Common issue and Possible solutions
- Drain pan is not on the correct place
- Condenser fan not clean
- Troubleshooting in Evaporator Fan
- Problem In Ice Maker
- Reason Is expansion and Contraction OF Plastic Part
- Door Closed Issue
- An issue in Defrost Timer
Drain pan is not on the correct place
The most common problem creates rattling its happens when there is some mechanical issue like incorrectly place the drain pan in the refrigerator.
If this is the must check it and place it in the right position. Keep in mind the drain pan is not bent and damaged too. Simple and easily solved this problem at home.
Condenser fan not clean
This is the second reason for rattling noise if the blades of fans are not clean with the passage of time. You can easily solve this problem at home.
Solution
- Unplug your fridge or turn the power off at the breaker.
- Locate the fridges condenser coils or fan.
- Remove the grate in front of the coils or fan.
- Scrub the protective grate and GENTLY clean the coils and/or fan.
- Clean up.
How to fix that noise in your refrigerator or freezer?
Troubleshooting in Evaporator Fan
Another reason for the rattling noise in your refrigerator is the troubleshooting of the evaporator fan. This problem usually occurs when the ice is stuck on the blades of the fan.
You can simply remove the cover of the evaporator fan and keep n the room temperature ice is melt and you should clean it with a clean cloth. Now place it again in the refrigerator for better results.
Problem In Ice Maker
Sometimes ice maker of the refrigerator is working normally but the rattling noise means the ice maker is filled with water. Check the water line that is connected with the fridge.
This problem may be happening with high water pressure. But when you turn off the machine at room temperature after every 10 seconds you are able to get 3 to 4 cups of water away from the refrigerator.
Reason Is expansion and Contraction OF Plastic Part
The shrinkage of plastics signifies the volume contraction of polymers during the cooling step of the processing of polymers. This contraction is partly due to the difference in the density of polymers from the melt state and then the cooled rigid state.
Door Closed Issue
Sometimes people do not close the door intentionally. So when they run the refrigerator it creates rattling noise. When you turn on the refrigerator things placed in its door closed properly. If the door is not correctly close replaced it or repair it.
An issue in Defrost Timer
A defrost timer switches the refrigerator between the cooling and defrosts mode. If it goes bad and stops at cooling mode, it causes excessive frost to build upon the evaporator coils which reduces the airflow.
Or when it stops at the defrost mode it melts all the frost and does not go back to the cooling cycle. Check out some Samsung fridge making noise when the door is closed.
